Huazhong University PhD Students visit the DSP Centre

On Thursday 5th October, we welcomed two PhD students from the School of Optical and Electronic Information, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, as an opportunity to identify possible areas of joint research, as they were returning from European Conference on Optical Communications (ECOC2023) in Glasgow. 

Linsheng Zhong and Sun Zhang gave the team an overview of their research and findings, with particular focus on their research into real-time optical systems. Our PhD and Master’s students, Omaro Gonem, Luis Vallejo Castro, Jiaxiang He, Isaac Osahon, Jasmine Parkes, Piotr Franscak and Mathew Purnell, then shared their research experiments, with some live demonstrations of our Physical Layer Security, LiFi, Sensing and XR techniques.

It was wonderful to welcome Linsheng and Sun to the DSP Centre and Bangor University, and we're looking forward to looking into continuing the discussions on joint-research ventures.
