Fairest workload and second in Wales for Student Care
Bangor University has the fairest workload in the UK according to a recent survey of students, who placed Bangor in joint first place for that element, and second in Wales for overall student satisfaction.
In the latest Times Higher Education Student Experience survey, Bangor’s students rated the University particularly highly for its “good environment”, its library facilities and when asked if they would recommend the University to a friend – a resounding endorsement. These categories were given an aggregated total of 6.1 out of a possible 7.
The wide range of Sports Clubs and Societies available, the accommodation, security and helpful and interested staff were also highly regarded by the University’s students, scoring 6 out of a possible 7.
Bangor’s excellent teaching and student care was reflected by good responses to the categories covering this area: the high quality staff and lecturers, the good relationship that students have with their lecturers, good support and welfare and a fair workload (all receiving 5.9 out of 7).
Commenting on the results, Vice-Chancellor John G. Hughes said:
“This survey reflects what we know to be true of our University - we are a friendly caring University with an excellent standard of teaching and pastoral care set in a fantastic location, be it to study or socialise. All our Clubs and Societies are free to our students in order to encourage them to make the best of the opportunities that they have while at University, whether they’re related to their studies or social. Despite this we are continuing to invest in new facilities to ensure that our students have the best possible time at University.”
