Research Interests
I am fascinated by human decision making. For all my life I've questioned how and why we do the things that we do, especially when decisions don't make immediate sense. In particular, I seek to better understand what factors bound our ability to make beneficial, sustainable decisions when interacting with the world around us and coexisting with its denizens.
My current research examines this by analysing how individuals manage shared resources in novel resource management tasks. In exploring this I have utilised both bayesian and predictive modelling methods to help extract and interpret behavioural patterns from large datasets. Additionally, I am eager to explore any alternative experimental paradigms and methods provided they may capture some of the myriad complexity of human decision making.
No matter what our options appear to be; we always make the only decision we can based on who we are in that moment.
