Kalpa Pisavadia is a Research Officer and staff candidate PhD student at Bangor University's Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME). She leads and contributes to health and social care economics research across multiple concurrent funded projects.

Her PhD research applies an intersectional feminist, co-produced approach to the evaluation of community-based domestic abuse support programmes for women, with a focus on wellbeing, empowerment, and wider social outcomes. This work sits at the intersection of health equity, social value, and the lived experiences of women affected by domestic abuse, with the aim of informing more inclusive and equitable health policy and practice. Kalpa is particularly interested in women's health and the intersection between race, sex, gender, and socioeconomic status as axes of inequality shaping health experience and outcomes. This research identity extends into her applied project work, including her contributions to the NIHR funded WE CARE project under the leadership of Dr Ceryl Davies.

Kalpa's broader research contributions include leading systematic, scoping, and rapid reviews, conducting applied economic analyses, and has authored and co-authoring peer-reviewed publications in journals including Value in Health and BMJ Open.

Beyond her core research activities, Kalpa holds a number of leadership and service roles. She is Co-Director of the Social Value Hub at CHEME and Communications and Knowledge Transfer Lead for Health and Care Economics Cymru (HCEC). She is an invited peer reviewer for BMJ Open, BMC Health Services Research, and the Journal of Medical Internet Research, and is a member of a Health Research Authority Ethics Committee.
