Designated Living Options
Every student is different, and your living space should feel right for you. At Bangor, you can choose accommodation that matches your preferences so you feel at home from day one. Explore the designated living options available:
Quiet Halls
If you prefer a calmer environment, our Quiet Halls may be a great fit. Residents are asked to help maintain a peaceful atmosphere, though it’s important to remember that no shared living space can be completely silent. Noise from other areas or outside the building may still occur.
Quiet Halls are available in Borth and Elidir at Ffriddoedd Village, but spaces are limited and not guaranteed at the time of application.
While St. Mary’s Village doesn’t have designated Quiet Halls, its peaceful surroundings and smaller flats make it a popular choice for focused study and relaxation.
Alcohol‑Free Flats
If you choose an alcohol‑free flat during booking, you agree not to store or consume alcohol anywhere in the flat, including your bedroom.
You’ll never be placed in an alcohol‑free flat without being informed first. Availability is limited, so these flats may not always be offered at the time you apply.
Female‑Only Flats
Some halls offer female‑only accommodation. Residents may still have male visitors, but we ask that you let your flatmates know if someone is staying overnight.
Please note that male staff members, including the Halls Team, Mentor Team, Campus Life, Maintenance, and Domestic staff, may need to enter the flat as part of their duties.
If you require a fully single‑sex environment for cultural reasons, university halls may not be able to meet that requirement.
