Overall aims and purpose

O gychwyn cyntaf y traddodiad theatr Cymraeg a ddatblygodd er y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg, mae testunau llenyddol wedi dylanwadu’n arw ar gwrs y ddrama. Bwriad y modiwl hwn yn trafod y broses o addasu testunau llenyddol ar gyfer y llwyfan. Bu addasiadau o nofelau Daniel Owen yn hynod boblogaidd, a man cychwyn priodol ar gyfer y modiwl hwn fydd fersiwn J.M. Edwards o Rhys Lewis. Ond yn ogystal â chynnig trawsolwg hanesyddol, bydd y modiwl hwn hefyd yn ystyried llu o faterion eraill, e.e. cymhellion yr addaswr, gweledigaeth yr awdur gwreiddiol ac un yr addaswr, y sialensau a wynebwyd wrth fynd ati i addasu, y cyfaddawdu a orfodir gan ystyriaethau ymarferol, pa mor glòs neu lac yw’r berthynas rhwng y llyfr gwreiddiol a’r addasiad llwyfan, swyddogaeth cyfarwyddwr. Amcenir at drafod amrediad o destunau, e.e. Rhys Lewis (Daniel Owen), Cysgod y Cryman (Islwyn Ffowc Elis), Te yn y Grug (Kate Roberts), Un Nos Ola Leuad (Caradog Prichard), a Bitsh! (Eirug Wyn). Ar sail astudiaeth o ddetholiad o destunau, bydd cyfle i gymhwyso’r hyn a ddysgir yn ymarferol mewn addasiad o waith llenyddol. Bydd y gwaith llenyddol y addesir gan yr ail a'r drydedd flwyddyn yn amrywio o ran her.

Course content

Mewn cyfres o ddarlithoedd, seminarau, gweithdai a chyflwyniadau, bydd y modiwl hwn yn trafod y broses o addasu testunau llenyddol ar gyfer y llwyfan. Trafodir ystod o destunau gan wahanol awduron, o addasiad J.M. Edwards o Rhys Lewis gan Daniel Owen ddiwedd y bedwaredd ganrif ar bymtheg hyd addasiad mwy diweddar Siôn Eirian o Cysgod y Cryman Islwyn Ffowc Elis ar gyfer y Theatr Genedlaethol. Bydd cyfle i glywed addaswyr a chynhyrchwyr yn trafod y sialensau a’u hwynebodd. Bydd cyfle hefyd i baratoi addasiad o waith llenyddol byr. Bydd y gwaith llenyddol y addesir gan yr ail a'r drydedd flwyddyn yn amrywio o ran her.

  6. Mewn traethawd, llunio trafodaeth ar addasiad llwyfan o nofel (na astudiwyd yng nghwrs y modiwl) gan ddadansoddi'r modd yr aethpwyd ati i'w haddasu ar gyfer y llwyfan.

  7. Dadansoddi technegau addasu ar gyfer y llwyfan a'u cymhwyso mewn addasiad o waith llenyddol heriol.

  8. Adnabod gwendidau a rhinweddau gwahanol ddulliau o addasu.
