Overview

Yn y modiwl hwn cewch eich cyflwyno i faes sosioieithyddiaeth. Bwriad hyn yw astudio effaith gwahanol ffactorau cymdeithasol ar y ffordd mae pobl yn siarad, e.e. tafodiaith, ffurfioldeb neu wahanol fathau o iaradwyr. Byddwn hefyd yn ystyried amlieithrwydd o fewn cymdeithas, yn enwedig yn y cyd-destun Cymreig. Ceir ffocws ar yr iaith Saesneg yn y darlithoedd a'r iaith Gymraeg yn y seminarau. Yn ogystal â dysgu sylfeini astudiaeth gymdeithasol-ieithyddol, byddwch hefyd yn dysgu sgiliau trosglwyddadwy fel gwaith tîm, disgrifio data iaith a gwerthfawrogi gwahanol ddiwylliannau ieithyddol.

Bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu am bynciau fel: • Maes sosioieithyddiaeth a'i derminoleg berthnasol • Amrywioldeb cymdeithasol-ieithyddol - sut mae pobl yn defnyddio iaith mewn gwahanol ffyrdd • Newidynnau ieithyddol - pa nodweddion o ramadeg Saesneg sy’n arddangos amrywiaeth defnydd? • Amrywiad cymdeithasol - pa agweddau o gefndir cymdeithasol unigolyn (gan gynnwys oedran, rhyw) sy'n dylanwadu ar eu defnydd o iaith? • Amrywiaeth rhanbarthol - pa nodweddion tafodieithol sydd mewn Cymraeg (ac ieithoedd eraill) a pham? • Enghreifftiau o amrywiaeth cymdeithasol ieithyddol - bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu am astudiaethau dylanwadol yn y maes a'r hyn y mae ymchwilwyr yn ei wybod am sut mae Cymraeg yn amrywio • Sosioieithyddiaeth y Gymraeg. Sut mae sefyllfa sosioieithyddol iaith leiafrifol Geltaidd fel Cymraeg yn wahanol i sefyllfa iaith fyd-eang a mwyafrif fel Saesneg?

Good / B: Myfyriwr wedi cyflawni safon well na'r cyffredin o ddealltwriaeth a/neu wybodaeth ym mhob canlyniad dysgu, ac mae ganddo ddealltwriaeth glir a chywir o gysyniadau; y gallu i gymhwyso cysyniadau i ddata yn feirniadol ac yn feddylgar; tystiolaeth o ddarllen eang a chyfeiriadau clir a chywir at ddeunyddiau ffynhonnell; yn rhydd rhag camddealltwriaeth a gwallau cynnwys; yn rhydd o ddeunydd amherthnasol.

  • Disgrifio a chymharu’r defnydd o’r iaith Gymraeg mewn gwahanol sefyllfaoedd.

  • Gwneud sylwadau ar amrywioldeb gramadegol yn yr iaith Gymraeg ar lefel sylfaenol.

  • Ysgrifennu esboniadau o ffenomenau sosioieithyddol yn seiliedig ar eu dealltwriaeth o amrywiaeth ieithyddol.
