Overview
The module content will enable students to meet the learning outcomes and requirements of the NMC (2010) essential skills clusters. Practical skills for this Year three module will include, but will not be restricted to the following nor exclude skills that may be added as required:
• CPR and airway management • Intermediate life support (ILS) Interpreting blood analysis • Electrocardiogram (ECG) • Medical device training • Manual handling • Mandatory updating
Learning Outcomes
- Critically appraise and articulate an in-depth knowledge of pathophysiology, treatments and care needs of people with a range of health conditions demonstrating the ability to link theory and evidence to clinical practice.
- Demonstrate the ability to safely undertake required psychomotor skills during practice placement to meet the nursing needs of patients/clients.
- Demonstrate the required values and attitudes during practice placement whilst undertaking patient/client care.
