Another successful Completion Workshop for Bangor's PhD students

Following the success of the first PhD Completion Workshop in September 2011, Bangor Law School held the second Completion Workshop for advanced PhD students on Friday 23 March 2012. Professor Suzannah Linton organised and chaired the event, which began with a presentation from Dr. Alison Mawhinney on preparing for the final stage of PhD studies, including vivas. Third year students Emma Roberts, Binh Minh Nguyen and Jenny Pritchard-Jones presented their work to staff and peers, and engaged in lively discussion and debate with them.

The PhD Completion Workshops are designed to support students in their final months of study, facilitate the completion of their work and prepare them for examination. The workshops are part of a wider programme of support and training that Professor Suzannah Linton and others members of the Law School team have been providing to postgraduate research students at all levels. Other events have included specialized training in research methodology and interviewing skills. New students on the LLM and PhD programmes at Bangor Law School benefit from specially developed courses to assist them with advanced research. The third Completion Workshop will be held in summer 2012.
