Bangor has a surprisingly rich Jewish history even if it is not always obvious to the naked eye. As its High Street changes, traces of this history are at risk of being lost.

In this bilingual walk, we will take you around key sites of Bangor’s Jewish history, introduce you to the personalities, businesses and synagogues. What attracted Jews to Bangor resort and why did they stay? How did they shape their environment and how did it shape them? Join this gentle walking tour to find out more. The walk will be guided by bilingual history professionals, who will take you to multiple sites around Bangor that are steeped in Jewish history.
