Celebrating World Menopause Day at Bangor - October 17th 2025 - Save the Date!
Each year on World Menopause Day, the International Menopause Society invites communities and organisations to consider a specific theme relating to the menopause experience, and to use this to broaden awareness and enhance support structures.
The Staff Menopause Working Group is pleased to welcome back Dr Jen Cooney to deliver an online presentation on this year’s theme of “Lifestyle Medicine.” While prescribed medications and therapeutic interventions are known to be effective for many women, there are additional or alternative ways that health and wellbeing can be improved during peri-/menopause and into post-menopause, which will be highlighted during this informal session.
We will hear from Dr Jen on how to embed habits that improve key aspects of lifestyle medicine, including rest, nutrition, hydration and nervous system regulation.
This session is open to all staff at the University and will be delivered in English. A recording of the initial 45-minute session will be made available the following week to anyone who registered but was unable to attend.
