Masters by Research students awarded WISERD prizes

Two Masters by Research students from the School of Social Sciences were awarded prizes at the recent WISERD (Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data & Methods) Conference in Cardiff.Ceri Dalton, winner of the three-minute engagement/impact session competition

Ceri Dalton, whose research is looking at challenges when evaluating co-produced projects, won the three-minute engagement/impact session competition. This is a variant on the now well-established ‘three minute thesis’ format, but with a focus on how the researcher meets challenges and/or successes with engagement or impact. The prize is in the form of a selection of recent books from two leading social science publishers. Ceri’s partner organisation is the Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA).

Anne Collis, together with colleagues from Bangor University and her partner organisation Barod, won the WISERD/WCVA Collaborative Paper competition. They received a prize of £300 for their innovative presentation looking at Method issues in collaborative research. Ceri Dalton and Anne Collis both hold a Knowledge Economic Skills Scholarship funded under the European Social Fund (ESF).
