Teach Mór, Plasty, Mansion: a consideration of two Irish-Welsh estates
Research Seminar
For this Research Seminar we will be joined by Dr Gareth Huws for a presentation entitled 'Teach Mór, Plasty, Mansion: a consideration of two Irish-Welsh estates'.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, some landed estates had extensive holdings in both Ireland and Wales. Did the owners of these estates treat their Welsh and Irish tenants in the same way? Were such estates considered to be particularly Irish or particularly Welsh? Using hitherto under-explored source material, this research seminar will probe these issues, and place them in their social, economic and political context.
Attendees are welcome to join us in person at Bangor University, for which no registration is required. If you would like to join virtually via Teams then please register using the link provided.
