Produced by TIME in partnership with Statista R, the ranking highlights institutions that drive excellence on a global scale. To be eligible, universities had to be more than three years old, offer bachelor’s degrees, and enrol at least 2,000 students.
Institutions were evaluated across three core areas:
- Academic Capacity and Performance
- Innovation and Economic Impact
- Global Engagement
In particular, the Global Engagement pillar measures the extent to which universities attract international students and staff and the degree of international attention they receive. For this metric, Bangor ranks 52nd out of 500 globally, placing it in the top 10%. While it is the university’s strongest pillar, it has the least influence on the overall score.
The methodology also places particular emphasis on innovation and economic contribution, including advances in science and technology, knowledge dissemination, and the extent to which graduates achieve notable success, such as patenting inventions or rising to influential leadership roles. Bangor’s ranking reinforces its growing international profile and its standing as one of Wales’s leading universities.
The recognition reflects sustained effort across the University to deliver high-quality education and impactful research, while continuing to strengthen international partnerships and global reputation.
