We recognize that, during the pandemic, many pupils have had their education disrupted. We have surveyed our incoming students in order to better understand their prior learning experiences during the pandemic and their anxieties around, and expectations of, Higher Education to provide the required support. We have created an online induction course giving you ten steps to being ‘Bangor Ready’.
Our online extra-curricula, course (Be your Best at Bangor) provides a self-directed year-long induction for new students, introducing and developing key skills at the right point in their studies. Journal notes from the course can be discussed with the personal tutor.
Additionally, we have reviewed and adapted our use of exams in Year one and are supporting the introduction of fewer summative examinations, in favour of a more ‘authentic’ approach to assessment.
