THE MENAI SUSPENSION BRIDGE 1826-2026, CELEBRATING THE BICENTENARY

In our annual exhibition this year, we trace the history of crossing the Menai Strait using a variety of printed material and manuscripts from our collections; from the early days of roads and communications, the call for a bridge in the 18th century, the engineers who were involved in its design and construction, and its reconstruction.

CELEBRATING 140 - 2024

In this exhibition we give a glimpse of the rich history of the University for the last 140 years. From the great mass of material held by the University’s own Archives, a selection of representative and evocative examples has been made to illustrate the life and work of the past and present students and staff.

CONNECTING COLLECTIONS - 2023

This year, 100 years since the publication of its first book, we celebrate the work of the Gregynog Press, one of the foremost private presses that was resurrected in the 70s under the name, Gwasg Gregynog.

SIR CHARLES HARPER "COLONIAL ADMINISTRATOR" - 2020

The Charles Harper collection consists of 15 albums which serve as an important record of the life and work of a civil servant within the British Empire, pre and post World War I.

REMEMBERING CYNAN ONLINE EXHIBITION - 2020

In 2020 we noted the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the poet, Cynan (1895-1970), and our annual exhibition traced the story of his life and work through our manuscripts and books.

KATE ROBERTS AND BANGOR COLLEGE

In 2025, to coincide with Gŵyl Cofio Kate Roberts, we curated an exhibition to celebrate the life and work of the Welsh author, focusing in particular on her time as a student at the University College of North Wales between 1910 and 1913.
