About Us
Bangor University, with funding from the Welsh Government, is the North Wales hub supporting schools’ implementation of International Languages in the curriculum.
We have a team of experienced language practitioners for both the primary and secondary sectors. Our aim is to assist with the planning, delivery, and development of International Languages in North Wales. We aim to work directly with schools to address specific challenges arising in International Languages provision, targeting areas identified as barriers to successful curriculum delivery and the need for tailored Professional Learning.
What Support Do We Offer?
We work on a case-by-case basis and as requested by schools, virtually and/or face to face:
- Planning and developing international languages provision.
- Implementation of Curriculum for Wales Languages, Literacy and Communication (LLC).
- Reviewing schemes of work.
- Troubleshooting specific challenges faced by teachers or departments.
- Upskilling teachers with little or no previous experience teaching international languages.
- Supporting the integration of languages into existing schemes of work.
- Signposting teachers to high-quality, curriculum-aligned resources through Microsoft Teams and/or Hwb.
