As part of the Professional Learning project, we are working with ITE providers across Wales to help ensure that new teachers graduate with a secure grounding in evidence-informed literacy teaching.
This part of the project will support ITE providers in strengthening preparation for the teaching of reading, writing, language, and assessment in ways that are relevant to both Welsh and English contexts. In doing so, we aim to contribute to the longer-term development of literacy expertise across the education system in Wales. We hope that this approach will be built into all ITE programmes across Wales.
