Overview

Cyflwynir y cwrs gan seicolegydd chwaraeon ac ymarfer achrededig ac arbenigwr mewn seicoffisioleg, y ddau ohonynt yn gweithio gydag athletwyr lefel elitaidd, hyfforddwyr, a'r lluoedd arfog. Fyddwch yn dysgu y theorïau diweddaraf a'r ymyriadau cymhwysol mewn llenyddiaeth straen a pherfformiad.

Bydd gwaith ymarferol mewn darlithoedd yn cwmpasu pum prif faes straen a pherfformiad: Rheolaeth Sylwgarol e.e., pam ein bod yn tynnu ein sylw gan fygythiad? Effeithiau Cronig e.e. pam ein bod yn gyrru'r bêl golff i'r dŵr pan fyddwn yn dweud wrthym ni? Ailfuddsoddi e.e. pam ein bod yn ceisio rheoli symudiadau dan bwysau yn ymwybodol? Canfyddiadau Her a Bygythiad e.e., beth mae ein hymatebion seicoffisiolegol i straen yn ei olygu, a sut allwn ni eu rheoli orau?

The course is delivered by an accredited sport and exercise psychologist and an expert in psychophysiology, both of whom work with elite level athletes, coaches, and the armed forces. You will be taught the most up-to-date theories and applied interventions in stress and performance literature.

Practical work in lectures will cover four main areas of stress and performance: Attentional Control e.g. why are we distracted by threat? Ironic Effects e.g. why do we drive the golf ball into the water when we tell ourselves not to? Reinvestment e.g. why do we attempt to consciously control movements under pressure? Challenge and Threat perceptions e.g. what do our psychophysiological responses to stress mean, and how can we optimally control them?

Yn ogystal, byddant yn dangos gwybodaeth dda iawn o ymyriadau cymhwyso ar sail ymchwil ddamcaniaethol gadarn i liniaru effeithiau negyddol o'r fath ac yn cyfiawnhau eu defnydd.

Yn ogystal, byddant yn dangos yn glir ymyriadau cymhwysol yn seiliedig ar ymchwil ddamcaniaethol gadarn i liniaru effeithiau negyddol o'r fath ac yn cyfiawnhau eu defnydd.

Learning Outcomes

  • Adeiladu ymyriadau gyrru theori ar gyfer gwahanol berfformwyr sy'n berthnasol i'r sefyllfa. Er enghraifft, maer sefyllfa yn y astudiaeth achos yn arddweud pa theory sydd yn esbonio y gollad mewn perfformiad.

  • Adnabod perthnasedd gwahanol ddamcaniaethau o straen a pherfformiad ar gyfer gwahanol sefyllfaoedd ymarferol. Dysgu sut i asesu a darparu tystiolaeth y mae theori neu ddamcaniaethau yn gweddu orau yr astudiaeth achos.

  • Fydd myfyrwyr yn gallu nodi'n gywir pam maer athletwr yn cael cwymp perfformiad. Pa ddamcaniaeth neu ddamcaniaethau esbonio'r sefyllfa orau.

  • Gan gofio beth yw achos sylfaenol y cwymp perfformiad, gan gyfeirio at ymchwil, byddwch yn fwy parod i deilwra ymyriadau priodol sy'n helpu'r athletwr yn y sefyllfa hon orau.

  • Gan gyfeirio at y rhesymau damcaniaethol ar gyfer y cwymp perfformiad yr ydych yn chynnig, dyfeisio ymyriad a fydd yn helpu'r athletwr yn perfformio o dan sefyllfaoedd sy'n achosi straen.

  • Nid yw ymyriadau cystal yn unig â'r dystiolaeth y maent yn seiliedig arni. Felly, mae'n ofynnol i chi adeiladu ymyrraeth wedi'i sydd wedi selio ar ddamcaniaethol i helpu'r athletwr i adennill lefel dda o berfformiad.

Description

EssAdroddiadau damcaniaethol pam fod yr athletwr wedi cael cwymp perfformiad.ay. Theoretical accounts of why the athlete has had a performance slump. Students will be presented with a case-study describing an athlete who is suffering from poor performance under stress. Using the theories covered in class, and supporting scientific research, students will be asked to describe one theory that they think provides the best explanation of the performance problem. They are expected to describe the theory and supporting research, and extract key features of the case study to justify why this theory and supporting research can account for the problems being described.

Description

Traethawd ymyrraeth gymhwysol. Applied intervention essay. Students will be presented with a case-study describing an athlete who is suffering from poor performance under stress. This will be the same case study as was used for Essay 1. While the theoretical essay is all about using theory and scientific research to diagnose the performance problem, the intervention essay requires students to suggest an intervention, supported by theory and research, to help alleviate the performance problem.
