Overall aims and purpose

  1. Datblygu adnabyddiaeth fanwl o fater cyfoes sy'n berthnasol i un neu fwy o wledydd / rhanbarthau lle y siaredir yr iaith darged, trwy ddadansoddi mathau cyferbyniol o gyhoeddiadau a chyfryngau.
  2. Gwella eu gwybodaeth a'u dealltwriaeth o ddiwylliannau a chymdeithasau sy'n siarad yr iaith darged.
  3. Meithrin dealltwriaeth o'r gwahanol fathau o gyhoeddiadau a chyfryngau sydd ar gael yn yr iaith darged, yn ogystal â'u hamrywiol ddylanwadau ar farn y cyhoedd.
  4. Gwella eu sgiliau yn yr iaith darged, sgiliau darllen a deall yn arbennig - drwy archwilio gwahanol arddulliau a chyweiriau - yn ogystal â sgiliau iaith ysgrifenedig a manylder gramadegol.
  5. Meithrin sgiliau dadansoddi a gyflwynwyd yn ystod lefel dau, wrth adeiladu ar feysydd penodol o ddiddordeb a ddatblygwyd yn ystod y flwyddyn dramor.

Course content

Mae'r modiwl hwn yn rhoi cyfle i fyfyrwyr astudio pwnc cyfoes sy'n berthnasol i un neu fwy o wledydd/rhanbarthau lle y siaredir yr iaith darged. Gwyntyllir y pwnc a ddewisir drwy brism y wasg a'r cyfryngau, er mwyn magu dealltwriaeth o'r pwnc penodol ond hefyd o'r cyhoeddiadau a chyfryngau sydd ar gael yn y gymdeithas dan sylw. Bydd yr adroddiad terfynol yn cynnwys dadansoddiad o sut y mae mathau cyferbyniol o gyhoeddiadau a chyfryngau yn ymdrin â'r pwnc, yn ogystal ag asesiad o'u pwysigrwydd wrth ddylanwadu ar farn y cyhoedd. Ysgrifennir yr adroddiad yn yr iaith darged, ac atodir y deunyddiau a drafodir wrtho.

Erthyglau o'r cyfryngau a'r wasg a gesglir gan y myfyriwr fydd y prif ddeunyddiau ar gyfer y modiwl hwn. Bydd llawer o ddeunyddiau o'r fath ar gael ar-lein; bydd deunyddiau eraill ar gael ar ffurf gylchgronau a phapurau newydd a archebir gan yr Ysgol Ieithoedd a Diwylliannau Modern.

Bydd darllen ehangach yn dibynnu ar y pwnc a ddewisir, a bydd yn cynnwys yn bennaf gyhoeddiadau printiedig a ffynonellau ar-lein.

  1. Seminarau: dau seminar un awr yr un yn wythnosau 1 a 2 (i ymdrin â gofynion y modiwl, dulliau ymchwil, cynllunio, dadansoddi ayb).
  2. Seminar cyflwyno un awr yn wythnos 8.
  3. Goruchwyliaeth unigol: 30 munud bob yn ail wythnos (cyfanswm o 5 awr).
