Module Facts

Run by School of Medical Sciences

Semester 2

Organiser: Mr Merf Williams

Overall aims and purpose

Nod y modiwl hwn yw datblygu dealltwriaeth o swyddogaeth labordy microbioleg feddygol yn y gwaith o archwilio ac adnabod bacteria a pharasitiaid sy'n feddygol bwysig. Caiff myfyrwyr gyflwyniad i egwyddorion damcaniaethol amrywiaeth o grwpiau bacteriol a pharasitig o bwys a chymhwysiad ymarferol amrywiaeth o ddulliau microbiolegol a ddefnyddir mewn labordai i roi diagnosis o heintiau bacteriol dynol. Bydd defnyddio astudiaethau achos yn galluogi myfyrwyr i ddefnyddio'r wybodaeth ddamcaniaethol a ddysgwyd i ddeall y newidiadau patholegol sy'n digwydd mewn heintiau clinigol a achosir gan rai o'r bacteria a'r parasitiaid a astudir yn y modiwl hwn ac yn rhoi'r wybodaeth rhagofynnol angenrheidiol i astudio microbioleg a heintiau dynol yn y drydedd flwyddyn

Course content

Astudio rhai prif grwpiau o facteria a pharasitiaid sydd yn bwysig yn y maes heintiau dynol. Deall y prif gysyniadau a ddefnyddir i archwilio a rhoi diagnosis o heintiau mewn labordy microbioleg feddygol.

Assessment Criteria

excellent

Dylai bod myfyriwr rhagorol yn gallu dangos y sgiliau angenrheidiol ar gyfer dysgu ar ei ben ei hun a dysgu gydol oes (gweithio'n annibynnol, rheoli amser a chael trefn) a bod â dealltwriaeth drylwyr a manwl o bob agwedd ar y modiwl. Dylai atebion ysgrifenedig fod o safon uchel iawn o ran cyflwyniad, strwythur ac eglurder gydag ymdriniaeth dda iawn o wybodaeth gywir a pherthnasol.

threshold

Dylai bod gan fyfyriwr trothwy ddealltwriaeth sylfaenol o'r ffeithiau a'r prif gysyniadau ym maes microbioleg feddygol a gyflwynir yn y modiwl hwn. Dylai atebion ysgrifenedig ddangos y gallu i drefnu cynnwys perthnasol y darlithoedd i greu dadl resymegol

Caiff myfyrwyr hefyd eu cyfeirio at lenyddiaeth, adrannau llyfrau ac adnoddau electronig gwreiddiol perthnasol, a disgwylir iddynt eu darllen yn ystod yr amser astudio personol a ddynodir iddynt. Cânt hefyd eu hannog i chwilio am lenyddiaeth eu hunain gan ddefnyddio'r peiriant chwilio Web of Science. Cefnogir hunan astudio trwy negeseuon e-bost a thrafodaeth yn ystod tiwtorialau adolygu.
  2. Dwy sesiwn ymarferol mewn labordy yn para 3 awr yr un.
  3. Tiwtorialau adolygu cyn profion a gynhelir yn y dosbarth yn rheolaidd er mwyn gwirio gwybodaeth ffeithiol ac ysgogi adolygu cefndirol.
  4. Un awr ar bymtheg o ddarlithoedd
