Overview
In this module you will engage in the practices of the arts industry as it operates within the United Kingdom. You will have the opportunity to make a professional pitch for a potential performance in the Pontio Arts Centre, write a bid for arts funding, and experience directly through your practice the functioning of institutional structures and arts policies, arts management, marketing, funding, health and wellbeing in the arts and community practice. Upon successful completion of the module, you will have insight into the range of different career options available in the arts, and you will be prepared to engage in the profession through observation, applied research and critical analysis.
Professional practice, Arts institutions, Structure of Arts funding, Policy and strategy of arts organisations and funding bodies, Application processes for arts funding, Arts management, Marketing in the arts, Music in Health and Wellbeing Arts project development, Community practice, Report writing.
