Bangor University will be heading to Llantwd, Pembrokeshire, for the National Eisteddfod of Wales from Saturday 1 August until Saturday 8 August 2026. This year the event will be celebrating 850 years since the very first Eisteddfod in 1176.
We would be delighted if you could join us for our annual alumni reunion being held on the Bangor University stand between 1.30 – 2.30pm on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
You will be welcomed by Gwenan Hine, University Secretary, who will share an update of developments at the University. We’re also very pleased that alumnus Emyr Afan (Cymraeg, 1985) will be joining us as our guest speaker. Emyr is a Bafta award-winning TV executive producer, multi-camera director and ideas creative. As Chief Executive Officer of Afanti Media, he has built one of the longest-standing and most successful TV production companies in Wales. Emyr will share some memories of his time in Bangor and how his time at the University led him to become one of Wales’s leading businessmen in his field.
There will then be plenty of time for you to catch up with your fellow alumni and former staff. Please note, that unfortunately we are unable to provide refreshments this year.
Bangor University’s stand will be hosting a wide variety of activities, sessions, debates, launches and presentations throughout the week, so do drop in!
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Eisteddfod!
