Before Mobility
Depending on students’ year abroad programme and eligibility for a grant, there are a number of important documents that students must complete and actions they will need to take prior to the start of their mobility.
- Check your passport is valid and in date for the complete duration of the mobility
- If eligible, make a grant application for funding (please note that submitting a funding application does not guarantee a grant)
- Apply to your Student Loan Company (SLC) for a course abroad and travel grant application form (SLC eligibility criteria applies)
- International Experience Year only – Make a request via MyBangor request centre to change your degree title by 31st May
- Study Abroad – Make your application to your host University (deadline dates are set by the host University)
- Work Abroad – Provide written confirmation of the placement to the Exchanges Office by 31st March

Students will be provided with several documents which they must complete before mobility. Please use the appropriate checklist which serves as a reminder of the submission dates for the documents.
