Library Help and Support during Exams
We understand that revision and exam time can be stressful. Here are some services and resources from the library that might help. If you have any questions or if we can help with anything, please let our helpful, friendly staff know. Click here for ways to contact us.
Long Opening Times
Main Library and Deiniol Library are both open 24/7 until the end of May and the Normal Library is open until 8pm on weeknights. Click here for full details of opening times at all our sites.
Library Staff – Here for you!
If you need help or assistance, go to the service desk (in the foyer). Service desks are open late on weeknights and Customer Service staff are also here for part of the weekend. Staff are on site:
Monday-Friday: 09.00-21.00 (Main & Deiniol), 09.00- 20.00 (Normal)
Saturday & Sunday: 12.00-17.00 (Main & Deiniol)
To help you with your revision, the University has a collection of past exam papers that you can view online.
Not in the library but need help? You can instant chat while service desks are open. Look out for the red “Ask-the-Library’ banner on our webpages and start chatting using the widget!
One-to-one help from the Academic Support Team
The Academic Support team are on hand for in-depth help with searching our databases, information on e-books and other resources, referencing software and more! Click here to find the Academic Support Librarian for your college.
Group Meeting Rooms
Want a quieter space to study together? How about one of our group meeting rooms? We have bookable rooms at Main and Normal libraries - there must be at least 3 people in your group, and rooms can be booked for 2 hours at a time. Simply book with library staff at your nearest service desk.
Food and Drink
There are vending machines at Main, Deiniol and Normal which serve a range of hot and cold drinks as well as snacks. Each site also has a drinking water fountain.
In consideration of other library users, we don’t allow hot food in any of our buildings due to the extra rubbish and odors hot food can produce. So please use the designated eating areas (by vending machines or sofas in foyers /corridors) instead.
Alternative Study Spaces
The Library can get very busy, especially the PCs. Real-time availability of the PCs in Main and Deiniol library can be checked online.
A list of other spaces where you can find a PC if the Library is too busy can be found on the IT web pages.
Social learning space and snacks can also be found in Pontio.
