Why Start a Nursing Degree in March 2026?

Graduate Sooner

Beginning your studies in March allows you to complete your degree earlier in the calendar year, helping you enter the workforce and start your nursing career as soon as possible.

Beat the Competition

Nursing is in high demand. By qualifying earlier, you move into employment at a time when the NHS and healthcare providers are actively seeking new nurses.

Flexible Entry Point

If you missed the September intake or decided late, March gives you a second chance without waiting a full year.

Continuous Momentum

Ideal for students who don’t want a long gap after previous studies or work - keep your learning momentum going.

NHS Workforce Needs

The NHS urgently needs nurses. Starting in March helps meet demand faster and supports the healthcare system sooner.

Financial Benefits

Earlier graduation means earlier employment, which can reduce financial pressure and help you repay loans sooner.

Smaller Cohort = More Support

March intakes often have smaller groups, meaning more personalised attention from lecturers and better access to placements.

Placement Opportunities

Some clinical placements may have less competition in spring, giving you more choice and experience.

Career Progression

Starting earlier can give you a head start on specialist training or postgraduate opportunities.

Respond to Life Changes

We welcome mature students and those returning to education with flexible, inclusive routes. Starting in March means you can change your career sooner and avoid waiting months to begin.
