A 3-year fully funded PhD (starting 29th September 2025) is available at Bangor University’s School of Computer Science and Engineering. The project, AIMLAC: Supporting Medical Education and Training with Mixed Reality and Artificial Intelligence, is part of the AIMLAC CDT (http://cdt-aimlac.org/) in collaboration with Aberystwyth University and NHS partners.
The successful candidate will join Bangor’s Human-Centred Computing research group, working on AI, big data, XR technologies, visualization, and medical applications. Funding covers full tuition fees plus a stipend of ~£20,780 per year, with additional research expenses.
Eligibility: UK applicants only. Applicants should hold at least a 2:1 degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline, with strong programming skills and an interest in AI/ML.
