Bangor University’s Winter Graduation Ceremony

Over 300 degrees were awarded to Bangor University students at its winter graduation ceremony recently.

During the ceremony Professor John G Hughes, Vice-Chancellor congratulated graduates and thanked parents, families and friends of the graduates for their support during their years of study.

Elizabeth McManus, 23, from Bolton graduated from the School of Psychology with a first class BSc Psychology with Neuropsychology degree in July 2015 and was able to continue with postgraduate studies as she was the recipient of Bangor University’s first, innovative ‘Women in Science’ scholarship. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Neuroimaging with distinction and is now working on a PhD at Manchester University. Read Elizabeth’s full story

Gaenor Wyn Roberts, 46, from Llanfair Talhaiarn, Abergele graduated with an MA Business and Marketing postgraduate degree with distinction from Bangor University’s Business School. Michael Cresswell, 26, from Lingen, Shropshire initially completed two years of the BSc Forestry degree, and the associated sandwich placement with Forestry Commission Scotland in the Highlands and Islands, before applying and obtaining a job as a Woodland Manager in South Wales with Forestry Commission Wales. This resulted in Michael having to prematurely leave Bangor University. With his academic aspirations still unfulfilled, just one year later, he enrolled onto the MSc Forestry distance learning programme and graduated with distinction this week. Read Michael’s full story
