The scholarship is awarded annually to support a student who lives in Gwynedd and who chooses to study 100% of their university degree course through the medium of Welsh.
Elan said: “I've wanted to be a teacher since I was a little girl. I was influenced by my mother as she is a teacher, and through her, I have had an insight into the difference a good Welsh teacher can make to the lives of young people."
"I'm really looking forward to starting my course soon, and I'm extremely grateful for the scholarship. The extra funds will be incredibly useful as I begin my new chapter at university.”
The scholarship was established jointly between Cyngor Gwynedd and the Coleg Cymraeg.
Dr Ioan Matthews, Chief Executive of the Coleg Cymraeg, said: "On behalf of the Coleg, I would like to congratulate Elan on winning the Cyngor Gwynedd Scholarship this year, and wish her well as she begins her studies at Bangor University.
"I would also like to thank Cyngor Gwynedd for their continued support over the years. It's a pleasure to work with them to support students to continue their studies through the medium of Welsh at university, and to develop the next generation of bilingual professionals who will contribute to the communities and workforces of Wales."
Councillor Dewi Jones, Cabinet Member for Education at Cyngor Gwynedd said: "Many congratulations to Elan Roberts on securing the Cyngor Gwynedd Scholarship from the Coleg Cymraeg this year, and we wish her all the best as she begins her studies at Bangor University.
