Welcome to Professor Andrew Thomas, Dean of The Albert Gubay Business School
Professor Andrew Thomas has been appointed Dean of The Albert Gubay Business School. He joins Bangor University from Swansea University where he was Dean of Swansea School of Management. He also holds the position of Honorary Professor at Aberystwyth University.
Professor Thomas’s research interests include forensic engineering, supply chain management, project management, manufacturing
strategy and operations management. He has secured over £12 million in research and commercial funding, published over 250 research articles, including; conference papers, government reports and keynote speeches, and has extensive experience working with academic, government and industry partners. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, the Institution of Engineering and Technology, and the Learned Society of Wales. He is also a Chartered Engineer.
Professor Thomas has supervised and led twenty-five Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) projects and a range of research initiatives funded through ERDF, ESRC, EPSRC, EU FP7, Horizon 2020 and Innovate UK. In addition to his academic and research achievements, he currently serves as Chair of the Consortium of Manufacturing and Engineering Heads UK (COMEH) and is a member of the Engineering Professors Council (EPC UK).
