About the Wales Centre for Behaviour Change

Unlocking Behavioural Insights at WCBC

The Wales Centre for Behaviour Change (WCBC) builds on Bangor University’s internationally recognised academic reputation and applied research in the field of behavioural psychology and behaviour change.

Purposeful Change for a Sustainable Future

Understanding and implementing behaviour change isn't simply an academic pursuit; it’s a critical component in cultivating sustainable living, promoting economic growth, and addressing the challenges in contemporary society. The WCBC is at the forefront, working with Government, business and academia to fuel innovation and create systems that respond effectively to emerging needs. Born from a combined investment by the Welsh Government via the Wales European Funding Office and Bangor University, the centre initially embarked on a 2.5-year core-funded venture that. The Centre continues to thrive and evolve responding to needs, and contributing to cutting-edge thought.

Through strategic projects, the WCBC has successfully disseminated essential know-how and tools to business sectors, fuelling the growth and competitiveness of Welsh enterprises locally and internationally

Current Centre Themes

Beyond the period of initial funding, the centre remains a dynamic resource, advancing research collaborations, delivering targeted workshops, and operating as an advisory body for applying behavioural science within the spheres of public health and well-being.
