Accommodation Services can provide references for current and former residents who have lived in Bangor University accommodation.
References are provided to support applications for private rented accommodation and other housing providers. All references are based solely on information held by Accommodation Services.
Information Included in a Reference
Accommodation references may include:
- Confirmation of the University accommodation occupied by the resident.
- Dates of residence.
- Confirmation of whether the accommodation agreement was completed in accordance with its terms and conditions.
- Information regarding any outstanding accommodation-related matters at the end of the occupancy, where relevant.
- Confirmation of whether Bangor University would consider offering University accommodation to the resident in the future.
Information Not Included in a Reference
Accommodation Services cannot provide:
- Personal opinions or character references.
- Information unrelated to the accommodation agreement.
- Assumptions, speculation or subjective comments.
- Academic, disciplinary, financial or other University information that falls outside the remit of Accommodation Services.
How to Request a Reference
Requests for accommodation references should be sent to Accommodation Services.
To help us process the request, please provide:
- The resident's full name.
- The resident's student ID number (if known).
- The dates the resident lived in University accommodation (if known).
- The name and contact details of the organisation requesting the reference.
- Details of where the reference should be sent.
Consent and Data Protection
Accommodation references are provided in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Accommodation Services may require confirmation that the resident has consented to, or otherwise authorised, the release of their information before a reference can be provided.
