Bangor University will be heading to Llantwd, Pembrokeshire, for the National Eisteddfod of Wales from Saturday 1 August until Saturday 8 August 2026. This year the event will be celebrating 850 years since the very first Eisteddfod in 1176.
We would be delighted if you could join us for our annual alumni reunion being held on the Bangor University stand between 1.30 – 2.30pm on Wednesday, 5 August 2026.
You will be welcomed by Emma Marshall, Head of Development and Alumni Relations, who will share an update of developments at the University.
We are thrilled that Emyr Afan (Welsh, 1985), a BAFTA-winning TV executive producer, multi-camera director, and creative leader will be joining us as our guest speaker.
Emyr, an OBE recipient in 2024 and Cardiff’s Business of the Year in 2023, was also named Entrepreneur of the Year in 2024. Recently appointed Business Ambassador for Wales Air Ambulance, he is a green innovator, winning a national innovation award recently for his battery system called Nessa. As CEO of Afanti Media - one of Wales’s most successful and long-standing production companies - he also chairs youth music charities and represents Wales on PACT. He will share how his time in Bangor helped shape his journey to becoming a leading figure in Welsh business and innovation.
There will then be plenty of time for you to catch up with your fellow alumni and former staff. Please note, that unfortunately we are unable to provide refreshments this year.
Bangor University’s stand will be hosting a wide variety of activities, sessions, debates, launches and presentations throughout the week, so do drop in!
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the Eisteddfod!
