Bangor University ‘s training programmes and short courses are delivered by academic experts and industry professionals across a variety of disciplines and formats, aimed at both individuals looking to enhance their own skills and career prospects and employers looking to develop their workforce. 

There are a number of postgraduate courses offered by the Applied Learning for Preventative Health Academy (ALPHAcademy). ALPHAcademy is part of a network of Intensive Learning Academies, hubs for developing skills and expertise, for sharing knowledge and translating research into outcomes. 

 Canolfan Bedwyr offers a number of Welsh courses for those who wish to improve their written and spoken Welsh, aimed at businesses, agencies and organisations who are keen to develop their workforce’s confidence to use their Welsh language skills in the workplace.

 

Degree Apprenticeships provide employers with a way to access and develop talent and skills, critical to their development whilst developing a long-term relationship with University.

Bangor University's fabLAB in the Pontio building gives businesses access to training and self-help prototyping.  Take an idea and make it real, prototype, develop products, start a business, make a crowd funding video, collaborate, inspire and learn – that’s fabLAB!

The Help to Grow: Management Course will help you boost the performance and resilience of your business. Designed and delivered by entrepreneurs and industry experts at world-class business schools, this leadership course will provide time away from the challenges of running a business to invest in your leadership, and to learn how to take your business to the next level.

The ION Leadership Programme develops and enhances the leadership skills of owners, managers, leaders, key decision-makers and new leaders of businesses in North West Wales.

Have you ever wanted to learn another language? Now is your chance to do so. Languages for All offers a range of evening classes in five languages:

  • German
  • Italian
  • Spanish
  • Chinese (Mandarin)

Our courses are available to Bangor University staff and students, as well as to those outside the University. Register here.

We provide language and literacy teaching support and assessment for children and adults. We also conduct research into the neurocognitive and behavioural basis of reading and writing. 

Miles Dyslexia Centre

 The North Wales Business Academy (NWBA) took place between 2016 and 2021. The overall purpose of the project was to support businesses in North Wales in improving their business performance by increasing the skills of their managers and other employees through the delivery of ‘short’ accredited courses.

The project was a partnership which included Grŵp Llandrillo as the Lead, Bangor University and Wrexham Glyndwr. Attendance on the courses was part funded by up to 70% by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Government.

The Centre for Evidence Based Early Intervention (CEBEI) conducts training and research on programmes and materials that aim to improve childhood experiences.

The Centre for Mindfulness Practice and Research offers and promotes good practice in the delivery of evidence-based mindfulness practice to all who want it regardless of economic, social, religious or political boundaries.

The Management Centre is a residential training, conference and events centre that offers a range of flexible meeting and conference rooms available for hire. The Management Centre also offers 4* Visit Wales graded accommodation which is available to everyone.

The 20Twenty Business Growth Programme develops and enhances the business growth and leadership skills of owners, managers, leaders, key decision-makers and Team Leaders of businesses in North East Wales.

Bangor University's Welsh for Adults offers a structured and effective programme for adult learners of Welsh with a wide range of classes providing the learner with a clear progression route from one level to the next. Courses are available daytime and evening across Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey.
