Lily Braden to Represent the United Kingdom in Global Chinese Competition – A Proud Milestone for Bangor University’s Confucius Institute!
We are delighted to share the excellent news that Lily Braden, a dedicated student at the Confucius Institute at Bangor University, has been selected to represent the entire United Kingdom at the 18th “Chinese Bridge” Global Final for Secondary School Students. The competition will take place in China between September and October 2025.
This is a remarkable achievement and a source of immense pride for our Institute and the wider university community. Lily’s selection follows her excellent performance in the UK Regional Final of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students. The national organising committee recognised not only her language ability but also her cultural knowledge and personal commitment to learning Chinese.
Lily’s success highlights the growing impact of Mandarin learning across the UK and demonstrates what can be achieved through determination and dedicated support. We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to her tutor, Yuanyuan Luo, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in Lily’s preparation.
Representing the UK at this prestigious international event is a significant honour, and we have every confidence that Lily will be a fantastic ambassador for both Bangor University and young Mandarin learners across the country.
We send Lily our warmest congratulations and wish her every success as she takes to the world stage in China!
