Moving with the Elements: Tai Chi in Support of a Worthy Cause!
We were honoured to support the Draig Beats Festival at Treborth Botanic Garden this weekend—a vibrant, family-friendly celebration aimed at building connections between the University and the wider community, while raising funds for our dear friend and former colleague, Dr Sophie Williams, a former lecturer in plant conservation at Bangor University.
As part of the day-long festival, our talented tutor Xianke led a serene Tai Chi demonstration and workshop, drawing in a large and enthusiastic crowd despite the unsettled weather. His graceful movements and calming presence offered a peaceful moment of stillness and reflection amidst the lively festival atmosphere.
It was wonderful to see participants of all ages joining in, many of whom commented on how relaxing and uplifting the session was.
We are glad to have been able to contribute to this inspiring fundraising event and would like to thank Xianke for representing the Confucius Institute with such warmth and skill, and for sharing the beauty of Tai Chi with the local community.
