Overview

Nod y maes ieithyddiaeth (linguistics) yw disgrifio a chategoreiddio ieithoedd o ran eu systemau gramadegol – e.e. y synau sy’n cael eu defnyddio, neu sut i ffurfio brawddeg. Bwriad y modiwl cyfrwng Cymraeg hwn yw cyflwyno myfyrwyr i wahanol agweddau o strwythur gramadegol iaith, gyda ffocws ar y Gymraeg ond gan gyfeirio at ieithoedd eraill hefyd. Byddwch chi’n dysgu am sut i gategoreiddio iaith o ran ei gwahanol fathau o eiriau, sut i drawsgrifio sain iaith mewn ffordd fanwl gywir, disgrifio’r modd adeiladu geiriau ac adeiladu brawddegau. Byddwch chi’n datblygu sgiliau mewn adnabod a chymharu gwahanol nodweddion iaith fel y Gymraeg mewn ffordd academaidd, ac hefyd byddwch yn dysgu mwy am gyd-destun y Gymraeg o ran lle mae’n dod o yn wreiddiol a sut mae pobl yn ei defnyddio hi heddiw. Mae dau aseiniad i’r modiwl, sef adroddiad sy’n gofyn i chi ddisgrifio a labelu esiamplau o ramadeg Cymraeg, ac ysgrifennu sawl traethawd byr am strwythur iaith. Mae’r modiwl hwn yn addas ar gyfer unrhyw un sydd â diddordeb yn yr iaith Gymraeg, gan gynnwys myfyrwyr ieithyddiaeth, ieithoedd modern, cymdeithaseg a/neu llenyddiaeth, a nid oes angen unrhyw gefndir penodol arnoch i gymryd y modiwl hwn.

Bydd myfyrwyr yn dysgu am bynciau fel: - Categoreiddio geiriau mewn iaith - Trefn geiriau'r Gymraeg ac ieithoedd eraill - Morffoleg y Gymraeg ac ieithoedd eraill (h.y. strwythur mewnol geiriau) - Hanfodion seineg a beth yw system sain y Gymraeg ac ieithoedd eraill - Lle mae ieithoedd yn dod ohono a sut mae ieithoedd yn perthyn - Disgrifio amrywiaeth tafodieithol yn y Gymraeg - Dylanwad ieithoedd ar ei gilydd mewn cyd-destun dwyieithog - Pynciau ieithyddol eraill perthnasol a diddorol a fydd o ddiddordeb i fyfyrwyr

Trothwy / Gradd D: Gafael sylfaenol ar nodweddion ieithyddol creiddiol iaith. Gallu cyfyngedig i adnabod rhai o’r nodweddion hyn mewn testunau llafar ac ysgrifenedig. Gallu cyfyngedig i gymharu nodweddion amlwg o ramadeg gwahanol ieithoedd. Yn arddangos lefel sylfaenol o allu mewn trawsgrifio seiniau iaith gan ddefnyddio symbolau seinegol. Yn gwneud defnydd sylfaenol o arddull ysgrifennu academaidd ac yn arddangos gallu cyfyngedig mewn cyflwyno syniadau perthnasol a chysyniadau mewn ffurf ysgrifenedig neu ar lafar.

Da / Gradd B: Gafael dda ar nodweddion ieithyddol creiddiol iaith. Gallu adnabod rhai o’r nodweddion hyn mewn testunau llafar ac ysgrifenedig. Gallu cymharu nodweddion amlwg o ramadeg gwahanol ieithoedd. Yn arddangos gallu mewn trawsgrifio seiniau iaith gan ddefnyddio symbolau seinegol. Yn gwneud defnydd da o arddull ysgrifennu academaidd ac yn arddangos gallu mewn cyflwyno syniadau perthnasol a chysyniadau mewn ffurf ysgrifenedig neu ar lafar.

Ardderchog / Gradd A: Gafael ardderchog ar nodweddion ieithyddol creiddiol iaith. Gallu uchel i adnabod rhai o’r nodweddion hyn mewn testunau llafar ac ysgrifenedig. Gallu uchel i gymharu nodweddion amlwg o ramadeg gwahanol ieithoedd eraill. Yn arddangos lefel uchel o allu mewn trawsgrifio seiniau iaith gan ddefnyddio symbolau seinegol. Yn gwneud defnydd ardderchog o arddull ysgrifennu academaidd ac yn arddangos gallu uchel mewn cyflwyno syniadau perthnasol a chysyniadau mewn ffurf ysgrifenedig neu ar lafar.

  • Adnabod a darparu esiamplau o'r ffordd mae nodweddion gramadegol yn wahanol ar draws ieithoedd.

  • Adnabod ac enwi nodweddion sylfaenol gramadeg yr iaith Gymraeg gyfoes, gan gynnwys ei sain, trefn geiriau a’i morffoleg.

  • Cyflwyno dadl academaidd am nodwedd(ion) o ramadeg (Cymraeg neu iaith arall).

  • Trafod a darparu enghreifftiau o ddylanwad ieithoedd ar ramadeg ei gilydd dros hanes ac yn gyfoes (e.e. dylanwad Saesneg ar y Gymraeg).
