Overall aims and purpose
Bydd y modiwl hwn yn archwilio'n feirniadol y berthynas rhwng y cyhoedd, sefydliadau cyfryngau a'r wladwriaeth. Bydd myfyrwyr ar y modiwl hwn yn trafod yr egwyddorion allweddol sy'n llywio'r berthynas hon, gan ganolbwyntio ar gwestiynau yn ymwneud a rhyddid mynegiant, grym y cyfryngau, a datblygiad y sffêr gyhoeddus. Rhoddir pwyslais ar y ffyrdd y mae dadleuon ynghylch yr egwyddorion hyn wedi llunio polisi'r llywodraeth, yn y DU ac mewn cyd-destunau cenedlaethol eraill. Gan fabwysiadu dull hanesyddol, bydd y modiwl hwn yn dadansoddi astudiaethau achos penodol gyda'r bwriad o ddeall y broses llunio polisi fel y mae'n berthnasol i'r cyfryngau.
