Coastal Echoes: The Poetics of Collaboration

Zoë Skoulding, Catrin Menai and Iestyn Tyne will discuss their participation as arts practitioners in the collaborative, cross-artform project Coastal Echoes, organised by Literature Across Frontiers in 2024-2025 in Kerala, Turkey and Greece.
How can creative practice in poetry, film and sound explore the resonances between coastal communities in different parts of the world? How does cross-art form practice enable the crossing of languages and cultures? Can it also offer forms of translation through which we can explore the non-human lives and materialities that connect us? What creative methodologies have been developed and what future collaborations might emerge from the project?
