Award-winning poet and playwright Inua Ellams (Barber Shop Chronicles, The Half-God of Rainfall, writer in the second season of the 15th Dr Who) brings his chaotic, audience-led poetry event to Pontio as part of Bangor University’s ‘Pride and Power’ events to mark Black History Month 2025. This year, the University will focus on the power of words, building on our existing Y Llechan work and the role poetry play at Bangor.
Inua’s Search Party is a unique interactive experience. Choose a word, any word, and watch as Inua is inspired by audience suggestions and open dialogue in this spontaneous performance using modern call and response, with a nod to the origins of storytelling, but with a decidedly futuristic twist.
This is performance is open to colleagues, students and the public but is recommended for children aged 14 and over.
