Eight-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Courses
If you want to explore mindfulness for yourself, the 8 week course is a great starting point. Due to changes within Bangor University, CMRP are no longer providing Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses. We recommend you contact Gwynedd Mindfulness, who provide many mindfulness opportunities in North Wales: their teaching team includes many long-standing CMRP teachers.
If you want a taster of what mindfulness meditation is like before deciding whether to sign up to a course, here are some free mindfulness audio tracks from some of our CMRP mindfulness teachers for you to try.
Distance Learning 8-week MBSR courses
Distance learning is a wonderful opportunity to learn mindfulness one-to-one with a CMRP teacher. You will receive learning materials at home and engage with your teacher via phone or internet sessions once a week. This course is especially suitable to people who may find it difficult to attend an 8 week group course:
- No courses in your country or area
- Restricted opportunity because of caring duties
- Unable to attend a group for health reasons.
This way of learning is also ideal for anyone with a mindfulness practice who would like to deepend and intensify their practice in a one-to-one teaching relationship with an experienced teacher.

We offer ongoing monthly meeting groups in Bangor for everyone who has done an 8-week course with us.
You can also join us for a free day of mindfulness practice at various times during the year. See here for more details.
A great option is our 6-week Staying Mindful Course, which has been developed for those who wish to deepen their mindfulness practice after completing the 8-week course.
