Ciaran Saunders
CMRP Core Training Team

Ciaran Saunders holds a MA in Mindfulness Based Approaches from Bangor University, where he currently teaches on two modules of the part-time postgraduate programmes in mindfulness:  the ‘Buddhist Background to Mindfulness Based Courses’, and the ‘Teaching 2’ module. Meditation, mindfulness and related disciplines have been the core of Ciaran’s full-time work for most of his adult life.  Throughout the 80’s and 90’s, and following his ordination in 1981 into the Triratna Buddhist Order (where he is known as Ruchiraketu), Ciaran focussed on leading meditation retreats and on developing Buddhist ‘right-livelihood’ teamwork in the context of ‘work as a spiritual practice’.  From 2000 he chaired the Cambridge Buddhist Centre for twelve years, where since 2004 he has specialised in teaching secular mindfulness-based courses.
