Sophie is the Teacher Training Lead within the Mindfulness Network and Module Organiser for the Mindfulness Teaching Project (MTP), Assessed Teaching Practice (ATP) and Mindfulness Teacher Professional Pathway (MTPP) master’s modules at Bangor University, Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice. Sophie currently works as an assessor on both the MYRIAD and IAPT Teacher Training Projects at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. As a mindfulness teacher and teacher trainer for the Mindfulness in Schools Project, much of Sophies work has been with young people and staff in schools.

With a background in academia, Sophie’s PhD explored features of Mindfulness Training in both secular and comparative religious contexts. Sophie has an interest in research and development and in promoting integrity and accessibility in the field. Sophie founded SiTT (Support for Integrity in Teaching and Training), a peer-led community of mindfulness teachers, trainers and trainees that support one another to meet ongoing good practice guidelines at monthly meetings, community days and other events.
