Bangor celebrates VE Day at 80 and remembers those lost during the Second World War

On Thursday evening 8 May at 9pm, Bangor will note and celebrate 80 years since VE Day. On 8 May 1945, the Second World War ended in Europe, and Bangor will acknowledge this historic day with other towns and cities across Wales and the UK. Representatives from Bangor City Council and Bangor University will speak briefly, with the Diocese of Bangor giving a short remembrance service and thanks.
