Gorsedd honours for professor and student at Wrexham National Eisteddfod
Gorsedd Cymru has announced the names of those to be honoured at the Wrexham National Eisteddfod which includes a colleague, a student and alumni.
These honours, presented annually, recognise individuals from all parts of the country for their achievements and their commitment to Wales, the Welsh language and their local communities. This year’s individuals will be honoured at special ceremonies on the Eisteddfod Maes on Monday, 4 August and Friday, 8 August.
Among those recognised are Professor Enlli Thomas and Lili Mai Jones.

Enlli is Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. The Welsh language has been central to her career as a lecturer and researcher, and her contribution to the Welsh language within the University, and nationally, has been significant.
Undergraduate Lili is studying Welsh and Journalism. She is part of the women’s football revolution in Wales. Having played for the Wrexham Club Academy since she was 12, she played for Everton for two seasons before rejoining Wrexham and has won several international caps for her country at under 15 and under 17 levels.
Many alumni will also be honoured into the Gorsedd, who include Professor Emeritus Hywel Wyn Owen (PhD in Welsh 1983), Dylan Rhys Jones (Education 2014), Gwyn Anwyl (Computer Science 2002), Mared Lewis (Creative Writing 2019), Dilwyn Price (CERT 1972), and Geraint Cynan (Music 1983).
