BULAC provides free legal advice to the public, offering students practical legal experience under the supervision of qualified staff. This recognition highlights BULAC’s commitment to access to justice and its growing impact in the Welsh legal landscape.
This builds on a successful year for Bangor University Legal Advice Clinic BULAC, as they won the inaugural Pro Bono Award in the Legal News Wales Awards 2025 in June, in recognition of its valuable work providing free legal advice to those in need.
Tracey Horton, Director of Bangor University Legal Advice Clinic, said, “We are thrilled to have won the award against some fierce competition. To have won after such a short period of time is a true honour. We were extremely busy last year as can be seen from our recently published annual report. BULAC is just as popular this year and we are working on a three week back log for appointments. The popularity of BULAC is evidence of the great need for access to justice within North Wales and we hope to go from strength to strength.”
