Bangor's score for Teaching Quality increased from 87% to 90%, placing the University in the top 20 in the UK and 2nd in Wales. This theme reflects students' perceptions of how effectively teaching staff explain course content, engage students in learning and challenge them to achieve their best.
The University also recorded a significant improvement in the Learning Opportunities theme, rising from 80th to 42nd in the UK. This theme measures students' perceptions of the intellectual depth of their course, opportunities to explore ideas in depth, and how well their studies prepare them for future employment or further study.
Overall student satisfaction also increased, rising to 85%, with Bangor retaining its position as 4th in Wales.
Several programmes achieved exceptional results. Dental Hygiene, Midwifery and Product Design each received 100% positivity for Teaching Quality, while Biomedical Science, Dental Hygiene, Electronic Engineering, Midwifery, Philosophy, Ethics and Religion, Product Design, and Psychology with Clinical & Health Psychology all achieved 100% overall student satisfaction.

Over the past three years, our enhancement programme has introduced clear, evidence-based interventions supported by measurable actions. The consistent implementation of these improvements has delivered year-on-year gains across the National Student Survey, culminating in this excellent result. We are incredibly grateful to every student who took part in the NSS and to all our staff for their continued commitment to providing an outstanding student experience."

The 2026 National Student Survey (NSS) results have been published, with Bangor University recording increased positivity scores across every survey theme.
