Dr Bliuc is a clinical epidemiologist and pharmacoepidemiologist whose research focuses on fracture outcomes, healthy ageing, multimorbidity, and the real-world effectiveness of osteoporosis treatments. Her work has significantly advanced understanding of the long-term health risks associated with fractures and has informed approaches to improving care for people living with osteoporosis.
She has published extensively in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR), contributed to peer review, and supported the next generation of researchers through mentoring.
Dana said, “I’m honored to be named a Fellow of ASBMR. Since my PhD, I have regularly attended ASBMR meetings to learn about the latest advances in skeletal health, and to present my own work and receive valuable feedback. ASBMR has also been the place where conversations with other scientists have grown into scientific partnerships and meaningful research. This recognition reflects the community that has shaped and inspired my career, and I look forward to continuing collaborative science within it.”
The ASBMR Fellow designation recognises long-standing members who have demonstrated sustained commitment to the Society through voluntary service, made outstanding contributions to bone and mineral research, and published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (JBMR) and/or JBMR Plus. Fellows are nominated by their peers before being evaluated by a review committee and approved by the ASBMR Council.
