New students explored Chinese language and culture with the Confucius Institute at Bangor University’s Serendipity event, meeting our tutors and discovering the range of activities available throughout the year.

The Institute offers a variety of cultural activities that give students opportunities to learn, create and try something new. At Serendipity, students got a taste of these activities through Chinese calligraphy. They picked up a brush, practised making Chinese characters and discovered an art form that brings language and creativity together. For many, it was their first experience of calligraphy.

Our tutors loved meeting so many new students and hearing about the languages they speak, the subjects they are studying and what they hope to explore during their time at Bangor. Students also had the chance to ask about learning Mandarin and joining future Institute activities.

Serendipity was a lively start to the academic year. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and took part. We look forward to welcoming you to more Confucius Institute activities throughout the year.
