MSc Business Data Analytics Student Completes Industry Internship with Financial Planning Firm
A postgraduate student from The Albert Gubay Business School at Bangor University has successfully completed a two-month internship with North Wales-based financial planning company 75Point3 Ltd, gaining valuable experience in the practical application of data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business automation.
Youssef Remmal, who is studying MSc Business Data Analytics at The Albert Gubay Business School, joined the independent financial planning firm in Colwyn Bay as part of a student internship opportunity that enabled him to apply skills developed during his studies in a professional business environment.
During the placement, Youssef worked on projects focused on AI, automation and workflow improvement, gaining first-hand experience of how organisations are using emerging technologies to enhance business processes and support decision-making.
Reflecting on the experience, Youssef Remmal said:
"I've really enjoyed the internship with 75Point3. I've learnt so much, particularly about AI and automation, and I've also had the opportunity to put into practice what I learnt during my studies.
"I'm also very grateful to the Business Clinic for supporting me through the interview process, and to my lecturer for referring me. This opportunity has made a real difference to me. It has helped me better understand what companies are looking for and the skills I need to continue developing for my future career."
The internship highlighted the strong links between The Albert Gubay Business School and regional employers, providing students with opportunities to develop industry-relevant skills and gain practical workplace experience alongside their academic studies.
Stephen Jones, Director of 75Point3 Ltd, praised Youssef's contribution during the placement:
"Overall, I think it's been a very worthwhile exercise and Youssef seems to have really enjoyed the placement as well. He's been involved in some interesting projects, particularly around using Power Automate, AI and Copilot to automate workflows and move information between systems."
Experiences such as this help The Albert Gubay Business School students build confidence, develop professional networks and enhance their employability by working with organisations across North Wales and beyond.
